Gabion Stone

Gabion stones are used to fill galvanized woven steel wire baskets for erosion control and retaining wall structures.  These stones are also used for erosion control without the wire baskets.

The benefit of using gabion baskets is they are wire baskets filled with smaller sized stones that, once wired together, act like larger stone or concrete structures.  Gabion stones are typically 4 to 6 inches in size and are produced off the first screen in a crushing plant.  At this point in the crushing process, these stones are either removed as gabion stones or continue through the crushing process to be further reduced in size.
